Organization is not my strongest gift. In fact the word organization and Morgana should never be used even on the same page! Lol! But as I found myself up past the eyeballs in paperwork and odd bits of stuff, I knew I had to organize my office.
The way that works best for me is putting up a system of bins to separate receipts, bills and other assorted business type correspondence. Finances did not include a trip to the store for the appropriate bins, but that did not stop me. Being raised as a missionary’s kid, I inherited the gift of ingenuity. So I decided upon small boxes with the tops cut off.
The next step was to locate those particular boxes. I stopped at a friend’s store and picked up three boxes that I could make do with, but they were a little big. My van was backed to the front door (I needed to put my files and other workshop supplies back into my traveling part of my office). I was focused on the beginning of my project.
Then the cat cried. Oh my gosh! Being distracted with my mission of organization, I had totally forgotten to stop and pick up cat food! I couldn’t let the little fur person go hungry, just because I had ‘spaced out’.
As I drove to the store, I was aware I was calm and peaceful. In the past, I would have allowed frustration to rule me. I would have been stressed that I was behind schedule. Instead I was going with the flow and enjoying the journey.
When I got to the store, there was a cage full of small boxes with lids cut off and no printing on them! They were perfect for my office bins. I loaded my cart with them, got the cat food and happily drove home.
My organizing went smoothly and quickly thanks to the new boxes! Though on the surface things may not go according to plans. By releasing control and enjoying the moment, I can open the way for a stress-free life.
This is a wonderful way to live: Enjoying the ‘now’ and going with the flow!
