Where I live in Florida it is very hot and humid this time of year. This was brought to my attention this morning as I left the cool air-conditioning of the gym to go to my van. My glasses immediately fogged up making it difficult to see where I was walking. I had to peer over the top, so I wouldn’t walk into another vehicle. The angels whispered to me telling me this is how it is for us to change vibrations from one level to another. When we are communicating with spirit we live in nice air-conditioning. Then when we go back to the ‘real world’ it takes time for us to see with different eyes.
The challenge is that we live in the ‘real world’ and must learn to make adjustments for the shifts. I find it difficult to shift from channeling spirit to dealing with mundane things like driving and using technology.
Right now I am trying to figure out how to work with Skype or something else to teach classes via the internet. I also need to figure out whether to have a phone from Skype or use another one for my long distance readings.
For some people this kind of work comes very easy. I can do it, but it takes five times as long since I have to shift my energies into another space to do so.
When I was trying to record my meditation CDs, I was very grateful for a dear friend and fellow psychic, Andrea de Michealis of Horizons Magazine, who understood the challenges. Instead of just cheering me on, she gave me ideas and direction.
So remember when you are doing spiritual work, meditation, etc, to take some time to ground and come back before engaging in activities in this physical world. Otherwise, you won’t see what is in front of you and will be bumping into things!
I was recently asked what it takes to do what I do…traveling to teach and do readings. I pondered this for awhile. I have had many different jobs and careers in my past. The ones I enjoyed most, ie. Mary Kay Cosmetics, I set my own hours. However, I worked more than a typical eight hour day in Mary Kay. For that dedication I was awarded a free car.
I shifted out of that work and almost directly into Spiritual Work and doing readings on line. My kids were approaching teenage years and I needed more flexibility with my schedule as a single mom.
As I reflected on what I do I realized this is not a career. It is not even a job. It is a Life Commitment! I HAVE to do this work. I have given up a lot in my past to do this work.
I have worked other jobs to bring in money while this business grew. I have left relationships (romantic, friends and family) that didn’t understand my fervor for Light Work. I have left belongings and even moved halfway across the country to purse this Life Commitment.
I have done without some of the extras that many people have as staples in their lives…even done without a meal or two in the past, so I could follow this passion that is locked within the beat of my heart.
I have gained a peace that truly surpasses all understanding. I have gained beautiful, amazing friends and watched with a sense of joy and awe as they allow the angels to transform their lives with the tools I have been honored to share with them.
My clients have become my friends and my family. I love them (you) dearly. Tears of gratefulness fill my eyes as I write this thank you to you all.
You allowed me into your lives and hearts and to open the doors of heaven to you. Because of that, I will be always blessed and forever grateful as I continue on my journey.
When I was 7 years old, my family took a vacation to Durban, South Africa. At the time we were living in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) …on the border of Zambia. We kids were so excited to be able to splash in water that was actually safe to be in…no crocodiles. I had not learned to actually swim yet, but could paddle around while lying on the inflatable pool raft. We were playing in and around a lagoon separated from the ocean. I had carefully gauged where the water was shallow enough to stand. I knew that I could get off the raft at a particular spot, then walk to shore.
My parents and brothers were lounging on shore while I happily jumped on my raft and paddled with my hands out into deep water. Soon I decided to paddle back. When I got to the spot shallow enough for my feet to touch, I slid off my protective raft.
Fear gripped me when I realized, I could not touch bottom. I had misgauged! Not one to panic easily, I started to clamber back onto the safety of my raft. As the raft flipped over on me, I decided it was time to panic! Gripping tightly to the raft and kicking wildly, I began to scream for help.
I was dismayed to see my parents making no move to help me. (I didn’t know till later, they did not hear my cries for help). Conflicting feelings of not being important enough for my parents to rescue made my struggles more challenging.
Then I saw my older brother, swim fins and mask on, beginning to paddle out to me. He took hold of my raft pulling it and me to solid ground! Poor Mark, he was always rescuing me…from not letting me pet the elephants when I was five, to grabbing me as I slipped on a precarious trail around Victoria Falls.
As I remember this time, I am reminded how often I have jumped into spiritual practices before I was ready. I have had teachers that have rescued me and showed me how to be patient. Protect first, then meditate, then learn to work with chakras, crystals, auras and healing. Then Readings, then Mediumship…then Channeling with Mediumship.
In the almost 20 years I have been on my spiritual quest, I have grown so I am now faced with times of rescuing others that jump in the deep waters before they are ready to swim. Dark energies must be removed that have grown to hinder their path, simply because they did not learn to protect themselves before diving in.
I am honored to be able to help. My hope is that I can help others avoid some of my pitfalls by hearing my story, so you can learn to swim FAST! We need you all…healers, mediums, psychics and spiritual advisors.
I was thrilled (and a little proud) of one of my students that has worked with me for the last two years. She has taken most of my classes, had private session, and most importantly…done her homework. Recently in my Advanced Psychic Development Class, she did an amazing job of channeling. It was the first time she had channeled, but not the first time doing spiritual work.
I am blessed to have my work be my passion and joy. My next Beginning Psychic Development Classes starts Wed. the 23rd. They run for five weeks.
