Lessons from the Past
In one of the writings of my friend, Andrea DeMichaels of Horizons Magazine, she spoke of having lessons brought up to learn, so we do not have them repeated. It made me ponder on what I might be bringing to myself to learn.
Archangel Anael reminded me of something I wrote several years ago, as my dear friend, Lilly Anna and I were uncovering an intense past-life. There were many lessons throughout. I was Darton, a strong knight. Lilly Anna was my lady and we were deeply in love.
We have written a book and a song about it. Much healing has taken place due to uncovering what laid behind the story of our life together. This was a time of my toughest lesson on betrayal. Here is part of the story......
SOUL IS ETERNAL
Betrayal….betrayal that goes into the deepest part of one's soul is what Darton felt that day. Never in a million year would he have dreamed that he would know how that felt. But here he was living through the torture of it. It was as if the person he trusted reached into his body and twisted his heart until the agony of it made the stars in the sky explode.
This battle they were engaged in seemed confusing from the start. The enemy melted into the forest at the company’s approach. Darton’s Captain, urged him to take his battalion and give chase. The Captain was a man that had earned Darton’s respect. Darton would follow him to the ends of the earth and was willing die for him.
As soon as they entered the forest, the confusion was upon them. The battalion was swarmed by the enemy, too many to count and Darton was quickly separated from his men and his loyal war steed, Osiris. Deeper into the forest, Darton pursued the enemy, as if he were being lured there by an unseen force. He paused to get his bearings and never saw the log swinging rapidly, hitting his back and stealing the breath from his lungs.
As he knelt upon the ground, trying to catch his breath again, he felt a sharp pain sear through his back like fiery flames. Darton turned to ward off his attacker as his life’s blood flowed from his body. His breath came back in a rush when Darton saw his beloved and trusted Captain behind him. Darton’s blood was dripping from the sword held in his Captain’s hand.
With an unbelieving stare, Darton gasped out, "Why?"
His Captain’s voice was fading in his ears as his life force began to leave his body. "Sorry, I want her. While you are alive she only has eyes for you. This is the only way I can make sure that she is mine.”
As Darton fell on the cold ground and the red haze of death filled his eyes, he wasn't sure what brought more anguish. The physical pain in his back was nothing compared to the betrayal of his trusted mentor. Then the grief of never seeing his beloved Lilly Anna again was overwhelming.
As his soul started to leave his body, Darton felt himself surrounded by gentle angels. Archangel Anael whispered in his ear, “You will see her again; you are bonded together through eternity. There is much for you to learn and much for you to do, and you and she will be together to accomplish great things for the Divine."

The following are a few words from our song:
Though the world is full of anger
To each other we'll be true
Our hearts will always be together and
That, the ages can't undo
Soul is eternal, reuniting us above
And we always return to those that we love.
Wipe your tears away; sorrow’s not here to stay
Our love unites the world and erases all the pain.
