Return of the Light

The energies of this season is hitting people hard. Many are sick, taking things and comments personally, being angry over family and other issues. We are nearing the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere. In the most Ancient of Times we celebrated the death of the Holly King (Long dark nights) and the birth of the Oak King (Light coming in). This is still shown in the Yule Tree, sparkling Lights and more. Our very DNA is encoded with the fears of the Ancient people of which we descended. As days grew shorter and nights longer and colder...there was a Fear that Winter would always reign supreme. Fear that the ground would never have enough warmth from the sun to plant crops again. On the Solstice we celebrated the hope that the turning of the wheel of life would once again bring us new birth and life.
