Imbolc Blessings

Today is a special day in many traditions. Pagans celebrate Imbolc. The midway point between the winter solstice and spring equinox. The Goddess Brigid, goddess of fertility, fire, midwifery and youth, is honored on this day.

It is believed that weather divination was practiced on this day, a tradition which would be adopted  and celebrated in modern times as Groundhog Day.

In the Christian tradition, Candlemas is celebrated as the day that Jesus was presented at the temple 40 days after his birth.

It is a great day to light candles and bonfires and a traditional early spring cleaning day.

May this day bless you with feelings of hope and renewal.
